So I just picked up my 2015 A22 a couple weeks ago. A bit disappointed with the surf Bimini. The straps are so far apart it won't hold my board or most my friends boards securely. Am I doing something wrong? Anyone have suggestions or a fix? I think I maybe able to have a vinyl shop add a second strap to hold the board closer to the bow I suppose for shorter boards.

I put the board upside down and it holds really well. I have to admit it is a pain in the butt to get them up there but it works. I am going to have bakes sew sleeves on mine so they are protected from the sun and hopefully easier to put on.

Next time I put it up I will take a picture. Not sure what you mean by upside down. I try to put the tip of the board toward the back of the boat. To get the tip under the aft strap I have to slide the board to far aft for the forward strap to clip behind the fins to hold the board in place. If I slide the board toward the bow to put the strap aft of the fins, the tip of the board does not reach the strap on the aft part of the bimini to hold to nose of the board.

I put mine in the same way r33pwrd does, fins up so to speak.

As far as I know I am doing it correctly, I push the boards as far forward as possible so that it the tip goes over top of the Bimini.

I load mine 180 degrees opposite. (I could be doing it wrong too) fins toward the front and pointed up. My T22 had deck track right on top of the gunnel that I can stand on.

Just like the picture. Used it all year (85 hours) that way with 2 boards...fins up and aft. Slide the nose of the board forward towards bow. I have to stand on the gunnel to get them in, but I've learned how to tight rope the gunnel from sun deck to tower. Haha

For the record we put surf boards up there and skim style (smaller) on the racks...

I put them in nose forward, fins up. I had one fly out while going 15 or 20 into a big headwind with 1.5 foot chop recently, but that was the only time in 92 hours. I probably didn't have it quite forward enough.
