Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the salt water series Axis has.

I'm always in straight up salt water or brackish here in Jacksonville, FL.

Thanks!

Im in VA Beach. My boat will never see fresh water. The boat will last as long as you take care of it and flush it. I have known plenty of people here who have opted out of closed water cooling system engines. Some parts still need flushed with fresh water. Someone can chime in on that part. I know only about half the motor is closed off.

Haha I'm just the opposite, my boat will probably never see salt water but I would like to convert it just for the hell of it. I would like to see a few pictures of the engine and hoses and heat exchanger in the salt series, I found a conversion kit that changes just the block only, not exhaust, to fresh water cooling for about 850$. I called Indmar and they want 2500-3000 for their kit but it includes the exhaust manifolds. I would like to keep antifreeze in the engine block just so it will last longer and the heater will work much more efficient too, I've also read some things about the fuel consumption and emissions being better with the temp at the correct range but that is just an added perk if you ask me. Put up some good pics if you guys have any!!

Gibster, how long have you had your boat? Any negative impact from salt water thus far?
