I am having the same issue with the lid hitting on the back however I have the added problem of the lid ialso hitting the rear seat cushion. Not a well thought out design for a critical piece of equipment.

Just unscrew the hinges so the lid can slide out and up.

So glad the A24 doesn't have that this issue. Would drive me nuts.

AO soft coolers. They are awesome. Stay cold all.day and don't leak a bit. I have two that fit under the seat on the left side. They fit perfectly and hold a bunch of stuff. They are on Their website and are in the boat cooler section. They are about $70 but worth every penny.

Get a Yeti and be done with it. You won't regret it! I can hook you up on one too. ;)

I have three Yeti's. They are good coolers but very pricey.

Hey guys new to the forum and Axis. Traded in my 2011 Tige R20 for a 2015 Axis A22. I was shocked when the cooler wouldn't open. Didn't even think to try that when I was checking out the boat. I like the idea of removing the hinges and will give that a shot.

Just wanted to share what we did our first time out. Flip the cooler around so it opens toward the center of the boat. A bit goofy but it worked.

It's funny you mentioned that. Immediately after I took the hinges off I noticed that turning it around backwards would also help free the lid.

It would be "cooler" if you could some home snap the cooler lid to the seat bottom so they both open with one hand!

Noticed the same thing last weekend when checking out the new A22. Obviously they haven't addressed the issue in the 2016's. I have the same problem as one of the other members where not only does my lid not open without having to pull the cooler out a bit but I have to remove both seat cushions because about 1in of the cooler sits under the back most corner cushion. Why offer a pricy factory option if it isn't well thought out/designed? Or at the very least let you open the dang thing?? SMH
