Just curious if anyone else rides a wakeskate. I ordered a Remote Horan for a great deal and excited to try it out. You can never have too many boards on the boat, right?

My wife skates most of the time. I know there are a couple others on this site that are really good wake skaters.

Thats all I do is skate. Have a quiver of skates but mostly just ride my Integrity. And yes you can never have enough skates.

My primary focus will still be wakeboarding, but I'm pretty pumped to start skating and progress at another sport behind the boat. I figure at the very least I can try some raleys and spins before strapping in and minimize the crashes. Hoping the learning curve won't be as steep since I already wakeboard and wakesurf. Any tips will definitely be appreciated.

As someone who grew up on a skateboard I thought I would really like wakeskates. I wakeskated behind out jet ski for a year then we bought our boat.

But I never realized how different of a feeling it would be to be pulled by a rope. I just hate the feeling of being pulled and never really found my balance. My wakeskate is a cheap $80 liquid force maple deck. I always think about buying a better one and giving it a shot again to see if a better deck will make any difference.

I surf about 98% of the time now.

All I do and have done for the last 7 years is wakeskate. When I took my ProShop job two years ago was the first day I wakesurfed in my life and first time i had wakeboarded in a solid 5 years.

Boat, Cable, jet ski and winching when it works out wakeskating is awesome. Only time I really wakeboard now is when I need to demo 2016 product to bring to the shop or a few laps at the cable just for fun. Wakesurf about the same and now im getting into ocean skimboarding too.

JayMan those closeout Remotes are a great deal and solid boards. Made by Moonshine MFG (Slingshot Wakeboards) they are durable boards that take a beating with a great shape.

LHC928 what Integrity are you still riding? I regret letting go of my 41" Team from 2008 and my Bamboo 38.5" Nick Taylor. Some fun progression sessions on those boards. I have a buddy who still has a Bamboo Lemons and I'll take that for a spin every now and then.

Vanamp depending on what LF board it was could have worsened that experiance. If you come from a skateboard background, defintly get a wood concave board with griptape. It will be the most natural feeling deck compared to a composite board or something with foam top.

If you want to keep the budget down, look used on craigslist or the wakeskating.com classified forums. Lots of good deals to be had. If you want to get a closeout Remote wakeskate check out California Marine Sports and you can pick up a 2014 Remote for $215 shipped to your house.

Stoaked to know there are some other skaters on here!

Stevenm

I have a team 40. Love that board. I used to rotate boards all the time, I have about 15 different skates but now I only ride my Itegrity.

Good info StevenM and good to know that I picked up a pretty good skate for my first one. I assume I'll start riding at a shorter line length and slower speed until I get comfortable. I don't plan on using the fin that came with my Remote. Are most people riding their skates finless?

JayMan you picked up a great skate for sure! I would honestly ride it similar to your wakeboard unless you plan to start trying wake to wake stuff then I'd shorten it up as you get used to the different pop and feel.

The fin is all personal preference and varies rider to rider. A number of Pros still ride with small fin in the back as well.

LHC928 it always nice to have options depending on what you want to ride. It's nice to mix it up every now and then.
