2014 A24 - stereo has always worked. Yesterday on the lake I went to hook in my iPhone 6 as i always do and it recognizes that I hooked in my phone as it goes from the display of 'NO DEVICE' to 'iPhone No Music' and it also begins to charge my phone. It doesn't matter if I try And play iTunes, rhapsody, pandora or spotify.. It still says 'NO MUSIC'. The second I unplug my phone from the stereo the music selected plays on my phone speaker.
Tried my daughters iPhone 6 and it works fine as it should.
Anyone have any idea what I may have done to my phone to make it not recognize the music playing? Super annoying and strange.
Anyone ever experience this?
Thanks in advance!

Had this problem intermittently with my device, no resolution. The sony headunit is a POS. Get a bluetooth adapter and wire it into your boat.

I've had it happen a few times. I fixed it by disconnecting the phone from the cord and doing a hard reset on the phone. Plug it back in after it restarts and it will work fine.
I've noticed it happens frequently after taking a phone call and then trying to play music after the call is finished. I do the same procedure above and it works immediately afterwards.
Just my experience thus far.

Mobile phones are like computers and you need to completely power them down from time to time to clear out cashe and applications. Also make sure you randomly shut down open applications you are not using that may be robbing your memory. I used to work for the largest wireless carrier

UPDATE:
So after some google searches about the subject, Frickin' Apple are such bastards.. You cannot play third party music through your iphone device without downloading at least one itunes song. Crazy thing is that I have been so annoyed by this damn U2 album that Apple just added to my phone without me asking for it. It was free, but every time the streaming connection drops when my phone rings or it comes unplugged from the stereo, which is about six times a day when on the boat.. The damn U2 album is what it automatically begins to play as the default. So I had erased the album finally. The next day on the lake, we could not get my phone to play music at all. Spotify, Pandora etc. I Assumed I hit some setting while erasing that U2 album I didn't want. Just couldn't figure out what.
Anyhow, just thought I'd share in-case anyone else encounters this problem.
