For those guys who have been in both. Can you tell a big difference in surf waves? I've surfed the t23 but I only see pics and videos of the T22. I love the size of the t23. I want to make sure I'm not missing something here before I pull the trigger? Any differences at all in the two boats? Wave quality? Is there anything in particular I need to make sure i upgrade when we build the boat? If you have any videos of the t23 surfing or have it dialed please share. I'm having a hard time finding anything which makes me nervous like people don't like this boat for some reason...

I have not been in both. Only in my T23 (full disclosure)

I have my wave as close to dialed as my skills can utilize. I'm running 900 sumo's in rear, sumo 650 in bow. I fill every once of water for anyone that has surfed before. I try and put 3 adults in bow and all the rest of the heavy bodies (including myself) in the middle of the boat. My soon to be 10 year old is my rope thrower so he sits in the surf corner. I will put the wedge down for big guys or surf style riders. I would like to throw a 600lb sac in the walkway if I'm short on adults to lengthen the wave for big guys.

I run all ballast for my son and he has been surfing for 5 weeks now and can easily go ropeless. He is 60" tall and the wave when he is in the flat is up to his chest. It's absolutely massive. I have videos on my wife's phone that I need to download. I will try to get some gopro videos this weekend to share as well.

I don't think you can go wrong with the 23. It's 17" longer than the 22, deeper inside and higher freeboard. Rated for 16 passengers. It's a win win.

If I was to build a boat...I would like to try the 450 LS3 with some various prop combos. I'm curious if the mileage would be better surfing due to the increase in HP and ability to run a less aggressive prop. Just something I would like test.

Here is my list of must haves:
-Surf Bimini
-2nd gorilla tracking fin
-PNP & Surf Gate
-VR140 mirror (not sure it's an option, but just installed one...it's insanely better!!!)
-900s or even 1100's in rear would be nice...since they would fit
-tinted windshield (not a factory option)
-***highest V-Drive ratio possible*** so 450 or 350 option
-gator step or equivalent vs carpet (if available) (i have carpet)
-flip up bolster seat
-3 pairs of cleats (I only have 2)
-spinner board racks

Probably forgot some...but those are what I would opt for 100% on the next boat. Hope this helps.

Also have a T23. Never been in a T22.

I have the same set up, 900s in back and 650 in front. Wave is definitely better shifting people forward. I'd be very hesitant to add any more weight to the back.

Wave is pretty awesome in my book. It is above the waist of most of my surfers. Let me see if I figure out how to post a pic.

Wedge, plug and play, and surfgate are the only mandatories. I have the 409 engine (at altitude) and high altitude prop and I can do about 42 with an empty boat at WOT at 4000 feet. I can get 17 people (mostly kids but 6 adults) plus 900 hard tanks, wedge, 900s in back, and 650 in front up to 12 mph to surf.

I've been happy with most of the upgrade choices I've made. The 409 vs 450 decision was a tough one. We have SP2, the bimini, the chillax seats, regular cruise control (works fine, glad I didn't spring for more), carpet etc.

The two surfers are 6'3" and a little over 3 feet and are about halfway down the wave.

That is good information guys....Boost it would be great if you could take some videos when your out there and post them. I really like the size of the T23. Its very roomy and I swore I would never get another boat that I felt cramped in. I have heard the T23 wave can be the best one in the axis lineup if it is setup correctly. I think 900's are plenty in the back of the wave. When I demoed we only had 750's and no bow ballast and the wave was still good. I'm sure with the bow ballast it will just lengthen the wave considerably. Maybe could put some lead underneath there too which will also help with bow rise when surfing. Keep these post coming!!! I like to hear and see everybody's experiences!!!

yeahoo....do you have any pics that show your wave better both goofy and regular?

I am in the market for one of these two boats if I choose to buy new. I am trying to decide on a new boat with the latest surf technology or buying a few year old v-drive and weighting the heck out of it. I currently own a 1996 Malibu Sunsetter which I purchased new. Malibu has been a great company to deal with and the boat has stood up to well over 3000 hours of use. I'll likely buy Malibu whether new or used.

I have a few questions. I have surfed behind several boats over the last several years and I must say that every time I get behind the latest and greatest wakesurf boat I am a bit underwhelmed. A couple of weeks ago I surfed a 23LSV with surfgate and I was expecting a spectacular wave. I thought it was incrementally better, not dramatically better than every other weighted v-drive I have surfed before. I had the very same reaction to a 2015 Mastercraft X-Star with their wave technology. While both waves were better but I am having a hard time spending the additional 30 or 40K over a 2009 or 2010 23LSV.

So my first question is how critical is the weighting to maximize the wake? Both of these boat owners filled the sacks and flipped the gate. It sounds like there may be more to it reading these posts.

Second question is how much off of list did each of you pay for your new Axis.

As far as price off of list goes, it varies greatly from region to region and dealer to dealer. I have yet to buy a boat but have been trying to do plenty of research on it. Seems like guys get anywhere from 8ish% off msrp to around 15%, some guys claim even better than that. I was quoted about 11% off on a 2016 A22 without trying to negotiate yet. Still working on trying to make a decision on what I want before I begin that process.

Also curious of the T22 and T23 wave difference, from what I have been told and read there really isn't much difference, but I dont think there are many people who have really had the chance to compare side by side.

The wave on a surfgate boat isn't necessarily better than what you will find on an older model. But... it is much more convienent to swtich sides for regular/goofy riders, allows for transfer tricks and is a lot safer to drive then a heavily listed boat.

Weight is important, but placement is key. I have found a slight list on the port side is best for port surfing, starboard side is better without needing the list. Also, bow weight beyond just the fat sac helps.

It's amazing how you just can't find much information on the T23. It's close to the end of summer and I would think there would be more videos and info regarding this boat.

It's not amazing really. Look at how few videos of the A24 surfing you see on YouTube and the A24 has been out approx 20-21 months. Besides everyone with a T23 is too busy having fun to worry about making videos including 2 of my friends with them.

Talked to my dealer a couple days ago about the T23. He did a demo with full pnp (900 in lockers and whatever bow bag is) another 650 in the walkway and 10 people. He said it was close to a G23 and he is a G23 homer. I can't wait to get out on their new '16 T23. We will be ordering a new boat this fall and the choices are getting harder
