To the OP.. yes you can still use the rear storage lockers with the bags. That is where I keep all my spare life jackets and bumpers at.

Hello everybody!

Thought I would share my experience. I have a 2013 A22 with all the plug & play ballast and I also bought the Wicked Wake tabs too.

I'm still playing with the ballasts, but mainly they're all full except the non surf side. We have been messing around with partial filling the non surf side. Wedge, I'm still not sure how much of a difference it makes, but it is down. I just got the Wicked Wake tabs this year, what a difference! Worth the investment.

As to how to attach them. I bought the bolt on kit with them, but decided not to use it. As you know the inside of the 2013 A22 swim platform is angled so clamps don't work and if you drill the hole for the bolts I feel you'll have to make an angled spacer so the nut and washer will put even pressure on the platform. I use straps, believe it or not and they work great. I take a long ratcheting one with no hook (it feeds back thru it's self) and go from the aft handle on the boat, thru the aft cut out hole in the surf tab mount, down thru the bottom bracket on the swim platform and back the same way to the ratchet. That hold it tight against the swim platform and pulls it forward against the boat. I run a second strap from the tie down eyelet above the surf tab thru the two holes cut in the surf tab mount and back up to the eyelet. This is just an extra one to insure it doesn't slip back or down. Haven't had and problems with it moving or spider cracking around the mounts on my boat. Of course I only tighten it down until the tab won't move and then no more.

Little long but I hope it helps. I've learned a lot from the forum and refer to it all the time.

Glovert
presently deployed and missing my Axis who should be sleeping soundly in storage.

I drilled my platform on my 12 A20 no spacers needed. Everything works great! Wicked Wave tabs are a must if you don't have gate. I recently noticed that my wacked tabs don't go to the bottom of my hull like the real gates do. I don't know what difference it would make to have it extend further down, but I want to order some hdpe and cut out a new on to see if there is any difference.

Anyone tried this? WM told me it works with Axis as well. I'm thinking of going this route. I don't have plug n play.(bought used boat, was not ordered with it). But I'm not sure if it wouldn't be faster to just use the Ronix 8.3 bag & 3700gph throw over pump, while the factory tanks are filling. I just put on a Poor mans gate this week.

I have 2 extra Ronix 800 sacks and the 3700gph pump when I want to get real nutty on my ballast in my A24 (like over 5000lbs) and "yes" the 3700gph pump and sacks would be much quicker than PnP sacks but what a pain in the butt to do that every time you wanted to switch side or just in general.
