Been working on my cove music for many weeks....it's just about perfect. I got a the Stater Batt, and I'm gonna add a 2nd batt on a 1/2/Both Switch. I have the stage 3 package, but changed the the tower speakers, but the amps did not change. I'm going to just push the tower speakers in the cove, not at a Rage, but a "basic" level. Should I get 2 batt's for the Cove Batts, what about CCA "Cold cranking Amps"? what are you diehard cover's doin these days? Of course, not looking to break the bank....but open to your setups....would like I think 1.5hrs before I have to run the motor to charge. Was contemplating 2 batt's for the cove Batts and then a stater batt. But the CCA has me puzzled

Follow up questions, how long to charge back up to full and what are your run times before a needed charge?

I am not much help on this subject but I will say I want to add a battery switch like my friends Mastercraft has. While he is in the #2 position his boat will charge both of his batteries where from my understanding the factory Axis one will only charge the one that the selector switch is on. Not a huge deal but nice not to have to ever switch it when you get to or leave the cove.

I have 4 batteries for the stereo with SP3; added an Arc Audio 15" and 420eq... never a worry.

^^^ Adam and I could be "those guys" at the sandbar (and usually are lol). You'll listen to what we want to. Adam's 15" Arc sub is stupid deep with the gains turned down even. Interstate SRM29 are probably the most common batteries out there and are super reliable and inexpensive. I have 3 of them. Also you might want to look into an onboard charger if you are going with a 3 battery set up. Don't rely on your alternator to maintain your batteries. You need to get a charger that puts you right at or very close to 10% of your total amp hours to be able to desulfate your batteries if ran down. Adam and I went overkill on our onboard chargers. I have a ProMariner Pro Nautic 50 amp. I believe Adam has a large Xantrex. Some people rely on Battery Ternders which is fine for a topped off battery but not to desulfate them. This is what I have

By far the most popular is this and I had a couple and they work just fine

You won't need more than one additional battery for 1.5 hours unless your expecting your boat to recharge it so you can play another 1.5 hours.

I'd recommend the pro sport charger. Had it charging 4 batteries in my last boat and it worked great and they all lasted the four years I had it.

In my new boat, I also have 4 batteries running an SD2, SD4, and SD6 Class D amps. Played HARD for several hours on July 4th and it still had hours of playtime left.
