Took the boat out all day today and 2 surf session in and the starboard side surf gate is stuck open. An error came up on the screen and said something on the lines of "Surf Gate fault code, starboard side can't retract" or something like that.. I turned the boat off, turned the batteries off for 3mins. Started the boat up and the surf gate retracted in but then opened up by itself and the error come up again. This isn't the only issue I've had with this boat, it seems every wknd there is a new issue. Anyone know what may be the problem?/

There is a way to recalibrate the gates for the menu on the left gauge. Its easy and takes no time. Check out your owners manual it may help with other boat issues you run into in the future.

Also, i know this has been asked but Im going to re-route the rear ballast line so my bags can fit all the way to the back of the boat, I know I just need 2 90* connectors, can I just go lowes and get those or do i need to order specific ones? if i can go to Lowes does anyone know what size I need? Thanks

Try to use the surf gate maintenance feature through the menu then once both are out, retract them back in. The recalibration feature doesn't always work but the maintenance feature works for me.

Yea man I did the maintenance and the recalibration, it did fix it but as soon as i exited out of the menu it went back out by itself again. IDK what the deal is. Ive had so many issues with this boat its not even funny. From horrible squeaking brakes on the trailer, ballast pump messed up bc Malibu wired everything wrong and the pump with sucking in water while it was discharging the water, ECM needed to be re-flashed 2x already, MIL light comes on for no reason, probably forgetting more, and now this issue with the gate.

You must have a Monday boat. Get the dealer to swap it out for you.

Two trips ago was experiencing same thing.. The port side surf gate was stuck in the out position after we switched wake side from starboard to port while under way. It was as if the system was locked up frozen.. We called dealer I bought it from and the owner walked us through the recalibration process. I had to do it twice before it actually seemed to recalibrate and work, but we've been out twice since and its been fine. I have a 14 A24 btw.

This happened to me a couple of times - First time we replaced the Module - After a lot of messing with the Actuators and playing the Menu - It worked great for a while - This spring same thing - They replaced a Actuator and same issue - Replaced the Module, well it worked like a champ. I have a 14 A22 - First time they said it was a easy plug and play - Located under the dash they said - It is pretty easy install (Better than hauling the boat over 50-minutes one way), but the A22 is located in the engine well - All the way in the back - You better be able to bend real well to get to it - But, waiting on the Actuator wasted 10-days of riding time - Yours is doing the same thing mine did....Good luck...
