Good morning- it seems as though the black vinyl on most of my cushions have little melty spots on them. Have any of you experienced this? Thought I remembered a thread a while ago related to this but couldn't find it? Boat is a '13 A20, always garaged. Thanks for any input.

Yep. I am guessing you are talking about the black on the two bow corner pieces? Malibu's fix was some grip tape in the corners. The melted cushions are from the sun being mangified off of the gel coat corners and concentrated onto the vinyl.

Does anyone have a picture of the area that needs to be covered? Just curious if I'm picturing the spot you are talking about.

This is the spot in mine, was in each corner of bow, Malibu re did the seats under warranty, my choice I asked them to do them in white, and have since had the axis logo deck trak cover supplied my Malibu also under warranty.

yup x2. My 2011 did it right away, i have a white boat and my cushions in both corners are black, also my front cushion did it too. I worked with the local dealer mechanic and we figured out what it was. Malibu said the reason was the black cushions, we told them they were wrong but they said they would reupholster my cushions, but go white or grey in those areas so it "would not happen again"... well I knew it would happen again but I decided to let them try. My cushions came back and they were exactly the same color, black in the corners. We told them they screwed up and they told my dealer to just give them to me and use them and if they did it again, they will make it right.
Well first trip out, first hour in really hot (100+) weather, they all melted again. My dealer had to put a brand new boat out in the sun, and video recorded the cushions burning/melting, sent that to malibu, and they came up with the deck track pieces to install in the corners.
I was taken care of, had my cushions replaced, and I installed the deck track in a couple minutes...

I guess the Malibu/Axis engineers didn't think the curved gel coat would act like a magnifying glass and burn/melt the vinyl. Common sense would tell them that as soon as they would've taken a boat out on a sunny day with the sun up late morning to late afternoon and they could see the concentrated beam of sunlight focused on one point. I noticed that on my A22 and started just putting a towel in that corner to disrupt the sun beam.

Mine look almost identical to the pic above. Tried to upload pics but kept saying the file was too big. I'll have to get one of my kids to show me how to fix that. Going to bring this (and a few other things) to the dealer soon and see what they say. Thank you all.

If it's within warranty they should replace. If not, probably have to live with it or pay up. Skins are t cheap.

Exactly what is happening. The only fix they offered was a black Axis decal to put in the corner to break up the sun beam.

The deck-trac isn't bad on a black boat but an eye soar in my opinion. I choose to just use a towel but have considered ordering a small sheet of Agenda traction. It comes in lots of colors and a few patters. Plus it doesn't look like industrial safety tape like the Axis stuff does
