In my pic above at 10.8mph that pocket is hardly "short" and can push my friend Roger at 270lbs. The guy in the pic is 200lbs. Plenty of push with the right board, rider, and technique. Every boat, even the same model, has its own personality and characteristics. I've had mine at 12+ plenty but I like it at 11.6 mph on my 4'6" Chaos Sixer

My boat depends on the side. Starboard I typically run 11.4mph cause it cleans up beautifully. I still can't get a pretty wake out of the portside. I have only seen it nice on portside once or twice since I have owned the boat and I have rode none of them.

My goofy side is better than regular which is nice for me since I'm goofy footed. Malibu/Axis tend to have a better goofy wave overall.

Which explains why most pics are goofy sided. How can I optimize the regular side?

Probably has more to with LH prop rotation and the hull shape. Centurions are known for better regular waves but have greatly evened out both. Centurion is the only boat company I know still offering RH rotation option vs standard LH. I think Malibu offered it years ago but I can't remember.

Is your speedo GPS corrected?

Uhhh.....It's always worked correctly as far as I know, but I'll recalibrate it and get back to you.

I'm trying to get the surf wave dialed on my '15 A22 and am assuming speed should be pretty similar compared to the A24. I started at 11.2 but the push just didn't seem to feel right. It felt better when we slowed it down to 10.6. Wondering if I should try a little faster than 11.2 next time out?

Stock full
FH 750s in rear
Front FH bag (600ish?)
400 in the bow walk way
Wedge down
Light crew (2 adults)

Also going to try a little extra weight on the surf side for a slight list and see how that changes things.

Jay, haven't seen much in the way of the A22 2015 model in surf setups yet. Have you tried sliding that 400lb sack towards the center of the cabin or the rear of the cabin?

I did try the 400 behind the windshield so I could keep the windscreen in place before putting it in the front of the bow. Next time out I'll put it more towards the center/rear and see what that does. I need to play with the speed some more, but I did make sure to calibrate it.

I also have another 400lb bag that I can throw into the mix. The extra weight might be needed on the days we ride with a light crew. Should be able to try out several different setups to see which one is the best. Maybe the additional 400 is too much, but it really just takes the place of people weight so I assume it will make the surf wave even better.

honestly I would try getting more weight towards the bow. My wave got a lot longer and developed more push as soon as I added more bow ballast to compensate for having 1100s in the rear. I've found that the closer you get to having a 50/50 bow/stern weight ratio the better. I put an extra 500 in the walkway in the bow.
