Just got my Boat in the water, did some wakesurfing everything was cool and then went around 20 mph after surfing and noticed my steering wheel spins all the way to one side. I'm not crazy right, that's normal?
And anyone seen that before? steering fluid or? something else?, i have lift put it up everything looks good with prop, etc.
Thanks for your time!

The steering does not use fluid. It is a direct Teleflex cable going from the steering wheel to the rudder control arm. The control arm goes directly to the rudder box and down to the rudder. How hard does it pull right? It sounds normal to me. I know the rudder has a small adjustable peice on it but I am not familiar on how to adjust it properly to help your situation.

If I let go of the steering wheel went going over 20 it will just spin the wheel automatically that one way. It's been a year so I do not remember if that is normal? In like a car you have your wheel alignment not sure if that have something similar for boats.

The pressure is there for steering feedback. Direct drive ski boats (v drives included) have positive pressure on the rudder to give you more precise control. If you had the prop setup more neutral it would not turn the steering wheel, but you would likely have more steering play before the boat would react. When pulling a skier or wakeboarder, you may want that control to counter steer your rider as they pull against the boat. Big wakeboard boats move a lot less than ski boats do.

You can adjust the brass tab at the back of the rudder to increase or reduce the feedback. By placing the tab more inline with the rudder the feedback will be reduced. Set the tab more pronounced and you will increase the feedback. I prefer more feedback for control, but its all preference.

There is a bracket attached to the stringer that holds the steering cable stationary. Last year worked its way loose. It sounds like what you are describing.
