I was wasting some brain cells the other night and was thinking about why axis surfgate paddles are a different shape than those on Malibu. Every Axis has "trapezoid" shape on the rear of the gate, all Malibu's are relatively square. With both brands hull shapes being similar why the two different paddle shapes? Will the square produce a better wave? just curious what your thoughts are.

Not referring to poor gates, just factory installed surfgate systems. 14+

Maybe some of these poor gates are producing better waves..............

I don't think the shape is as important as the angle. From what I have saw, they all seem about the same.

I'm thinking about replacing my A24 gates with Malibu gates just for the bling on the Malibu gates. Just have to do some measuring

I am pretty sure I saw a topic on this a while ago. Just order the plates. It is cheaper that way.

The metal plates have contours I believe that go along with the contours of the gate. The Malibu gates are raised in some areas. Like I said, I'll have to measure the gates first. I looked at the plates a couple weeks ago so I don't think its a straight bolt on job
