Pretty well known that the 14' T22 bags drain while surfing. I tried routing the lines higher up but it still drains, but maybe not as much.

Im not sure how the stock ballast system is plumbed. I think the hard tank fills first, then over flows into the bag? is there a vent on the hard tank?

Anyways, I need to figure out a permanent solution to prevent the bags from draining. If that means redoing the entire system I will. Or if that means just routing the lines in front of the bags, and then back. I honestly dont know if its draining from my vents or drains. I installed vents on the bags aswell. I dont want to drill any more thru hulls. I also didnt find any wine stoppers that would fit, they were all too small lol.

Thanks dudes

What about just putting a shutoff valve on the drain hose. My boat has a second anti siphon loop pre installed. If yours does too maybe run the drain through that.

Is it draining out the side when you accelerate ?

Its definitely draining out when accelerating. I haven't actually witnessed which port its coming out of, but we can surf for an hour or so, I'll check them, and quite a bit has drained. I'll top them off, and it will drain again. I suppose a ball valve would be a fairly simple solution (if I can figure out which port its draining out of). I would prefer a fix that wouldn't require interaction, rather fill and forget. But a ball valve is a start.

2 options. One is to get a wine cork or rubber plug to put in your drain port on both sides of the boat. That will stop the draining you are getting.

Option 2 is what I did in my A22. I needed it for a different reason, to get my ballast bags completely full, but it is the same concept:

If it was not mentioned in that thread, you can tap into the drain pumps closer to the pump in the rear lockers so you do not have to run wires all the way up to the dash.

Bullshoot, I'm not touching a friggen brand new boat that isn't doing what it should from day one ... still waiting on a solution.

It is definately draining out of the drain port and the vent port (if you added vents, I did trying to fix it). It drains while filled and the boat can be off.

The problem to me appears to be rear the bags are higher than the drain ports when filled.

I heard from Axis at the end of last year they might have had a fix, still nothing back .... apparently the fix didnt work because it was running the lines higher (above the ports).

Mechanically, it sounds like the shutoffs or stopper (which I havent found one that will fit either) are the only solution. Perhaps drilling MORE holes and running the drains to the bow will work ... I say Axis pony up and put in an electric shutoff value with the pump.

What is happening is that the weight of the water in the sacs is pushing down on the panel directly above the hard tank, which compresses it. When it does that, it forces water through the drain pump. The electric valves added between the tanks and the pump completely solved the issue. Sorry I deleted the pictures, I had forgotten that I posted them here.

Someone posted a thread of their fix, I do not know what they used to plug the holes, but it was a super cheap solution until axis figures it out. I will go find it now....

found it. Not sure if these still work for the newer larger diameter ballast set up, but worth a shot...

I like the electronic valve ideas Johnnydefacto. I tried wine stoppers but they were all too small.
