ski pylon...where to attach a rope for tubing?

I do not support towing from the tower, but I've seen my uncle tow 4 tubes from his 2001 malibu tower, slingshotting multiple large teenagers, no gelcoat cracks to this day.

In the Axis owner's manual for a 2012 model, it states a tube can be pulled from the tower. I don't like to pull a tube from anywhere but the manual says it can be done. I've hooked one to the tow point above the swim platform and the rope drags across the wake when you try to get the tube outside the wake. I tell my kids it's a wake boat, not a tube boat.

Well there you go...peace of mind for those who want to tow tubes on the tower. I'd still do the transom but that's just me.

I was at my dealer today and he told me to tow from the transom. He claimed the ski pylon on the Axis I was looking at was not meant to tow tubes. He told me the strength of the transom is stronger plus he said the tow rope may rub on the vinyl of the sun deck when pulling a tube.

In the 2015 Axis the ski pylon does not retract. Is that how its always been? I have a Malibu currently

Bottom line, Axis needs to make an official recommendation since the dealers seem to tell us different things regarding towing tubes??

I'd be awfully careful if I were to attach a tube to the tower. Tubes that submarine go from essentially zero resistance to levels that used to practically stop my former IO when they submerge. Then, because the tower tow point is elevated from where the tower and the boat meet, larger amounts of non-uniform stress would be pushed on the boat. Just my opinion.

Seems to me that the best options would be to:
1) Not pull a tube, jk
2) Pull from the grab handle
3) Pull from the ski pylon
4) Pull from the tower

I called Axis and they told me not to use tower as its designed for stand up sports. The rope could rub on the bimini too.
He said I could use the ski pylon, the grab bar or use a Y connected rope and use the outer transom hooks.

There are two ropes on that bouncy house. One to the tower and a second to the transom. The transom rope is taught.

on the record as have never pulled a tube from my wakeboat. I intend to stay that way. My daugter asked for a tube for her birthday...she got a wakeboard.
