Had my first real surf day with the 14' T22 this weekend. Ballast was hard tanks plus PnP, 600 rears, 650 under bow (not sure what it actually fills to). 7 person crew, wedge down.

With this weight the bow aimed really high, and the top speed was 10.2 unless we moved like 3 people to sit in the bow. The surf was mackin even going that slow, had a ton of push.

Is this more of an issue with bow weight, or is the cinco really struggling?

I've decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on the 2315 prop, but im really wondering if I should keep the cinco for lighter crew days. Typically my crew is no more than 4, with the occasion 8 person crew. But I also plan on swapping the 600 rear bags for 900's.

An extra bag on top of the bow seats will definitely help. I used the cinco on my '13 A20 and it struggled to get on plane at wakeboard speeds with our ballast setup. The wedge definitely doesn't help things either. Jumping from the cinco to the 2315 will be a night and day difference. There are other good options that fall in between those two props, but most people running heavy ballast with the previous gear ratio seem to go with 2313 or 2315. I really liked the cinco for lack of prop wash, noise, and fuel savings though.

Which engine do you have? It sounds like you have the 330hp Monsoon. From my limited experience with the cinco prop and a 350 engine on an A22, the prop is only slightly better than the ACME 1235. Reguardless, the 2315 will fix any issues with getting up to speed you had. Here is one for a good price still new in box. Don't shy away from the 2313 either if you can get a deal on it.

My boat has the 330 hp Monsoon, 900lb rear sacs and the arrow sac. I usually put a 400lb bag in the walkthrough area and have the wedge down and all the stock tanks full with between 4-6 people on board. It has no issue of getting up to speed with the 2315.

Yeah I have the standard 330hp. But just like jayman said, I have always heard the cinco to be the most efficient and less noisey. I've never heard the 2315, but I can tell the cinco is nice and quiet. Wakeboarding wide we never fill up all the way, were not that good! Lol... Is it worth going to the 2315 strictly for surfing? The cinco does ok for our wakeboarding needs.

It will be a decision you need to make. The 2313 would work as well. I believe the OJ 945 would also work for you. The ACME 2249 may fit your need. I am sure if it doesn't, the prop would be easy to sell.

I suppose if the 2315 is too much for me, you'll see it in the classified soon!

You thought the cinco out performed the 1235? I remember Johnny Defacto's prop thread and pretty sure the 1235 beat the cinco in terms of hole shot. I could be wrong though.

Found the thread you are talking about.

I didn't feel the difference between the two props (1235 vs Cinco) but I was on two different A22's. One had 1100 rear bags and the one with the cinco prop didn't have any plug n play bags installed yet. Both had the 350 engine. My buddy could get his boat to plane with the 1235 and 750lb sacs in the rear. I don't think he could get it to plane with more weight.
