I can't remember if I posted this on here or not but here is my ghetto gate design. I like it better then the clamp on style.
I got aluminum square tubing that telescoped. I was nervous to mount it to the under side of the swim platform but I figured mounting to the ugly unfinished side was better then clamping something onto the gel coat portion of the platform.
This is the prototype and it works great.
Its all goes together in about 30 seconds. It is in three pieces 2 square tubes and the gate. I slide the metal tubes in and there is a hole on each that I slide pins into then put the gate on and there are two more holes to drop pins in and its done. Not sure what the pins are called but they are the ones with the key ring on one side and a little spring loaded ball on the other end to keep them from falling out.

Pictures were taken before I drilled the holes in for the pins that hold it in place.
Before the ghetto when it was just my wife and I we could not surf without the rope with the gate we can. Its still a better with a few bodies in the boat but its nice to sneak out on a week night last minute and be able to surf when its just us.

Have any pics from the final, completed version. I like the concept. Think this will be the way I mount. Thx for the idea.
