my boat pg 4 of show rigs blk/blk has the vandall stickers on it. The skeleton sticker is actually has a purplish film layer that is peeling. Underneath is white.

Has anyone had this issue. can you peel the film off exposing the white?
I am worried the sun will discolor the underlying white sticker

I noticed some vandals stickers are all white, is it the same sticker system with the film removed? or does it have a clear film on it.

I will post a picture later

Thanks a bunch

Does the white under the film look glossy or matte?

I have seen stickers (not on a boat) that have film on top which is the glossy and some times UV resistant layer to keep sticker from staining and fading.

I had a similar issue this past year.... and get ready for an absolute headache. The vandall stickers they produce and apply are crap. After a year and a half (2013 A22) mine were fading. But not consistently. They were fading with vertical bars on it. It was almost like they printed a white vinyl decal with black ink. It resembled a running out black ink cartridge when printing with a inkjet printer. Here is where the headache begins....

Take the boat in after summer for winterization (live in Canada and only get about 4 months of use) and to get the final check done as warranty is expiring soon. I ask my dealer to replace the stickers due to the fading. Several weeks later (they do over 500 boats for winterization/end of season) so it takes awhile. I get an email stating axis will not warranty the decals as they consider "fading" not applicable to the warranty... after a YEAR AND A HALF!!!!!!!! So i call malibu myself... I explain that this isnt normal fading (very familiar with vinyl fading as i do alot of advertising with it as I own a clothing line, check signature :)) They basically tell me it isnt covered and i was out of luck. I send pictures showing the issue and explain that the boat is not stored on the water, or in any direct sunlight. It is stored in my back yard, tarped every night. again, not really interested in what i have to say. conclusion, they will look into it. over a month later they call and are adamant that they will not cover it. I am LIVID!!!!! So i proceed to say that people are spending thousands on their boats and a couple hundred (max) decal should be the least of their worry. I inform them that i will no longer be promoting their boats and will actually go out of my way to tell everyone this story and how it was handled. They say again they will see what they can do. In the end (after months) of conversations with me and my dealer, they agree to replace the decals... but i am liable for the labor to do so. Since when does warranty work not include the labor??????? BTW - the labor to replace them is quite pricey... takes a long time and basically hourly shop rate... much more than the actual decal....

Take from this what you will... not a great representation of the warranty department.
