Thanks for all the compliments! I'm glad to be part of the Axis family.

The only regret is that we didn't get that extra transom step on the trailer.....I thought I ordered it but there was some miscommunication somewhere. It would make it a lot easier getting in and out when at the launch. Water under the bridge now.

I didn't get the bimini, we didn't ever use the one we had on our last boat. I can fit a surf board and a skim board on one rack so I'll probably just get another set of racks and call it a day. I tried to fit our skim board under the locker behind the driver, but with the Chillax bracket it won't quite fit. I can just barely get the skim board in the rear locker but there's no way a surfboard will fit. I will say that I'm 5'8" and I have to stand on the seat to connect a rope to the tower.(maybe it's just me but I swear it's taller than the old style tower). From those pics of the Vandall with the Bimini, it looks like you could stand on the bow cushions and have a good position to get the boards on and off, but for shorter people like me it might be a PITA???

I almost forgot something everyone has been wondering about........

So with the 450 and the torque prop, the top speed is 33mph, but it will yank 4k of ballast out of the hole with ease.

I'm not sure how tight the covers fit on previous years but, Axis did a good job with this cover, it fits nice and tight around the tower. It dumped like half an inch of rain last night and it didn't leak a drop around the towers.

I'll get the exact rpm-speed numbers tonight for you. I have an ACME 1235 off my old boat I could throw on and try, but it's a step down form the torque prop in the sense that it's an inch smaller in diameter. Not sure that would be the best prop either. I think that the pitch on the torque prop is high and it has this crazy curl on the ends of the fins.

Torque prop ACME 2313:

Do you know if the new tower is just an option along side the old style? I still prefer the old style.

I really, really want to fit that new throttle assy on my 12'. That things looks sweet. My throttle right now feels a little on the cheap side with the plastic safety lock.

I have the LS3 and run an Acme 2419 prop. Top speed is 39.7 on my 2014 A24 and hole shot is incredible.

Not going to be near 3700 rpm for surfing. I have the L96 motor with 2419 prop and surf at 11.2 mph at 3100 rpm. Top speed is also about 38mph.

Unless Axis changed the factory "torque prop" option to the 2313, it was the 2419 which will smoke the 2313 as for as what it can pull. However, the 2313 and 2315 are amazing, versatile props. You'll probably get more top speed with less ballast/crew carrying capacity with the 1235.

I have the 2313, it's the "torque prop" offered this year. Another factor is the transmission ratio. I don't know if you saw the pic of the tranny plaque from a few posts back but the ratio on the 450 is 1.72:1 and I think the ratio from the Indmar engines was 1.52:1. So if your familiar with "gearing", the 1.72 is a higher ratio, more like a lower gear in a 4x4. The output shaft spins 1.72 rotations for every full rotation of the prop vs 1.52 rotations. Your RPM's will always be a bit higher with this ratio no matter what prop you run. And consequently your top speed is decreased.
