I got a chance to ride behind a '15 A24 last week. I'm still speechless. Here's a picture showing a surf board with the standard bimini.

Every boat company needs to have wakesurf rack strap options for the bimini. I like that. Might like them more from the middle to the back like tige has done but I like that Axis has added this. Wonder if Malibu will also have a strap option?

What do you like about it Jay?

While I'm very glad Axis is trying to make a surf rack of some sort, however, being that the standard bimini is so tall, how do you get the a surfboard secured in the rear straps and buckle it when the strap is at almost the highest and most inaccessible point on the tower? I could understand if the rear strap were bungee, then you could slip the board under it but it's a buckle strap that takes two hands to operate. Can you actually reach the rear strap by standing on the bow seats (which is a no no in my boat) or do you need to stand on that little part near the windshield with the Dektrac?

Sweet A24...you'll love it. By far the easiest boat to set up for surfing a big wave I've ever owned. I also love the rough water ride when the lake gets all that chop from wind or boat traffic.

It's sucks too as far as bass goes. That sub is pretty decent when you match it with a correct ported or sealed enclosure.

Great looking boat - great color and love all the room.

And thanks JayMan for the Bimini surfboard storage pics. Exciting to have a new option available for storage.

AJ, to summarize, I like pretty much everything about the A24 (haha). Keep in mind that I'm used to a '13 A20, so this boat felt like yacht status to me, and I was still amazed at how well it handled. I thought it would be a little awkward to drive at first but it really wasn't much different. It had the standard 350 in it with the "torque prop" and didn't struggle at all to my surprise. I was impressed with how quick and easy it was to maneuver and plane out with so much boat.

The wake, well....just stupid. I was getting a crazy amount of pop for what I'm used to, it would have been scary on a normal day but I was just too excited. The wake had a long, rampy transition even with the wedge down. I don't ride with the wedge down behind my boat but really liked it on the A24. It was also my first time getting to try out surfgate, and on an A24, I'm pretty much spoiled now. Long and clean. I was a little worried about how different/less the push would be coming from a listed wave, but no concerns now after finally riding a surfgate wave. Plenty of storage and room to stretch out was obvious from the first minute I was in the boat. It can get cramped pretty quickly on my A20 even with just a few people. The key thing for me, since I'm used to my '13, is how quickly you can switch from wakeboarding to surfing. All we did was dump some of the rear bags and we were ready to wakeboard. Talk about user-friendly.

To answer your question on the surf straps, it didn't seem to be much of a hassle honestly. One guy was able to strap the board in by himself and it was already up there before I even realized he was doing it. If I remember correctly he just stood on the decktrac piece next to the windshield.

No problem, kyson. Here's another angle.
