Hi, I recently surfed behind an 2002 malibu VLX that was weighted right and the wave was amazing. I have a 2011 A22 and that thing killed the wave that I am getting out of my boat. I know I can get more out of my boat if I weight it right though. I have the stock hard ballast tanks, the plug and play, and the floating wedge.

My question is what more should I put in the boat for ballast that will fit under the seats (if possible). What brand and how have people weighted the boat to get a better surf wave?

Thanks for any feedback.

What don't you like about your wake? Too long? Curling? What size plug and play setup do you have? Are you running the opposite side rear tank empty?

I have a stock tank filled in rear cabinet, plus a 1100 Fat Sac in rear. I also have a 750 under left bench seat 1/2 filled and a 950 front mushroom sac filled with wedge down.

nthsand do you get a clean wave with alot of push with it weighted like that?

I have stock ballast full a 750 in the back mushroom in the front full and today I put another 750 on the floor surfside and it helped but still not the best wave. does the 1100 and and the 750 half full do the trick? It sounds like a good set up let me know what you think of the surfwake?

Thanks

He'll get a better wave because he has a 2013 and you have a 2011. The platforms are different.

Some people have switched to the newer style platform so that it doesn't cut into the wave. The 2014 also rides a couple inches higher.

I ordered one a couple weeks ago and now I don't have to get a new boat with surf gate. Makes all the difference in the world, even with the 2011 platform. Joe is great to work with!
