Looking at a new t22 for purchase. Every boat we seem to find has a black hull and black top deck. While I really like the color I have a few questions coming from a guy who has had nothing but white bottoms and tops.
1) Has heat been a problem? I have 2 kids age 7 and 8 and the heat on the top deck is a bit concerning. 2) Overall wear? We always wipe down after each trip inside and out but have to park outside (covered overhead but not on the sides). Would skirts be needed?
Thanks guys for any help

It's the same upkeep as your white boats. If you're lazy then black boats will show you're lazy, white boats temporarily hide if you're lazy until your white turns chalky. It is hotter to the touch compared to white. Proper waxing 2-3 times per year and you'll be fine.

Hot is a retaliative term...where are you located? Im in VA with a 100% BLACK A22. In the past 3 years no one including my 3-6 YO has ever been hurt. If I was in TX or AZ I think I would avoid black, but it sure does look good when clean.

I have over 500 hours on mine now and still LOVE it. Black was not my 1st choice, but it does look great and gets compliments EVERY time I take it out.

We just purchased a T22 with black bottom as deck and had some of the same concerns you do. I really can't tell that it is Hotter like we expected it might be. We have been keeping ours in the water for the week and pulling it out on Saturday or Sunday and washing and drying it and it looks just as good or better than we brough it home. We love the look of the black and get LOTS of compliments on it!

I live in Oklahoma where it's consistently in the 100's. I have a black top and bottom. My only complaint is that I can not operate without my carpet installed. The floor is absolutely waaaaayyyy too hot on the feet. The top rails and stuff doesn't seem to be a problem at all though. I get tons of compliments on my boat though.

No problem coming from just north of Houston. Best cleaner I've found is Boat Bling Hot Sauce. Buy a gallon of it and mix it 60/40 with distilled water in a spray bottle. Spray and wipe when you pull boat out.
