What exactly does the salt water package consist of?

I do have the water hose connection on the rear of my boat. I first thought that this was for connecting to fresh water to just run the boat out of the water but after reading some post does this mean I have the salt water package?

Do you need to regulate the water pressure somehow when you hook this up?

Also if other boats do not have this on the rear how do they run their boat out of the water?

Thanks just curious I guess

Adrian

You may just have the flush kit. Below is some stuff on the salt series. If one doesn't have a factory flush kit, then you can add one or use a fake-a-lake - http://www.waterskis.com/43560-p/fake-a-lake.htm

For 2011 we are continuing our complete salt series package with the boat. This is to address the overseas demand as well as the domestic need, as we understand there are plenty of people who require a boat to operate in salt environments. The Salt Series package will include your choice of a salt-ready AR335 CAT or Raptor 400 CAT, the salt resistance powder coating on the tower and seat bases, a flush kit, our brand new Tatami snap-in floor mats, grounding and bonding to sacrificial anodes, a sea strainer, and a BoatMate galvanized trailer. We believe that this package is everything you need to ensure that the boat has a long life in salt areas.

Hi
I have just ordered my Axis which is the saltwater series
I believe there are quite a few changes that they make in order to protect it from salt corrosion
generally, from my research, if it is full saltwater series, the engine type normally has the SS next to it
so, for example, i have ordered the 350HP Monsoon SS
i think there are pictures of it in the Axis wake brochures which can be downloaded from the main website
also, there is a list of points that they change on there, including like the sea strainers and changes of fixings to higher and marine resistant etc
All I know is it bumps up the price a lot for the full saltwater series.
I previously owned a Moomba and had to change the engine to a full saltwater engined with closed system cooling as the environment out here in Dubai is so aggressive.
Im sure there is no water in the sea, just salt!!
and that combined in the air with sand just eats away at your boat unfortunately. (cant complain though as can pretty much use the boat all year round!)
when my

i think when my new one arrives, im going to add to the cover with maybe press studs and put a cover over the tower and also down below so i can avoid the fading from sun and effects of the salt and sand
im sure it will never get done! but its the thought that counts!

i know a lot of people have the flush kit installed to make the flushing a lot easier, especially when you put the boat away on your own

Regards
Lyndon
