I ran across a deal on a a baby box anchor on Craigslist for 30 bucks. The size was not listed on the post and the guy did not know anything about them. He was a scuba diver and when he found anchors he would sell them. I had someone pick it up for me and could not verify the size until I got it.

In a lake with no current do you think it will hold the boat. I mean guys talk about there smalls holding 2 boats on a river.

I think I might try it and see but was just wondering if anyone else has used one.

Thanks craig

For that price I would buy it. I think the baby box can hold a wakeboard boat without a problem.

It'll hold you. As long as the lake bottom is not all rock, you're good. Just remember to have at least a 2:1 scope on the anchor rope. We use baby box anchors as the second anchor when we two point anchor to keep the boat from swaying in the wind in crowded conditions. Small box for the front, baby box for the rear.

I am going to give it a try. If it does not hold where I will be for the weekend I just ran across a large box anchor that someone was sell on CL for 25 bucks. I know that one will hold. If the baby holds I will sell the large to a buddy who has a pontoon boat that could use it.

Thanks for all the replies.
