Walter, dont you have an A22 though? I know they will both surf with the old platform but the A22 just surfs better than the A20...just saying.

Ya, I'm just saying....like VAstyles is doing, do the gate before dumping 5 times the cash on a platform, it works so much better than listing the crap out of the boat an is way easier to drive when the rub rail isn't under water

Thanks Walter, I really like the poorgate option over the $1K+ for the platform for sure, especially on big water. We only surf in the afternoon when the jet skiers and tubers screw up the water anyway, so not having my wife sink the Axis because its listed is a huge plus!

I had to do something, my wife refused to drive the boat when it was listed, it was too hard for her to turn around and not take on a bunch of water over the nose and she was just scared of it when leaning over.

Walter do you have a pic of your gates mounted on your boat? Here is how mine came out. My buddy decided to round off the edges on his router table. I got sick to my stomach when the drill first went into the platform. Got my 1235 installed as well. Can't wait to try this out! As far as surfing stock 12' and 13' platforms with listing and 9.8 to 10 mph. My opinion is that it's just too slow. Yes your surfing, but thats really all you can do. I listed my boat so hard last year, got a great shapped wave, but no push. My opinion of course. Anyway, off the the pics...

Great weekend on the boat with plenty of surfing and wakeboarding. I actually got the surf wave dialed in pretty good, even without the gate. I found that the front bag full and the surf side rear full with no wedge is pretty great at about 12.8-13.2 mph with just 2 people in the boat. The platform did cut in a bit, but i didn't find it to ruin the wave as some stated. I did find that too much weight in the boat makes the wave tough to ride, being just very steep and short with no push. More bow weight is really what makes it great. When I had 6 other people in the boat, I needed to drain some weight out because it just made the pocket short and steep.
