There is no comparing the A24 to an A22, in my opinion, as far as being happy with my decision. The A24 will feel like a beast the first few days on the water as far as around the dock but then, as with anything new, you get use to the feel. As far as interior goes...storage, storage, storage...plenty of it. The long seat behind the driver, put 3 surfboards in it yesterday (big boards like 5' won't go). The underseat cooler is so nice and it has storage around the cooler if you want to bring an extra two 12pks of beer, water, soda, Gatorade, etc. the batteries are under the observers seat so that really frees up that compartment for backpacks, purses, towels, etc. I thought I would miss the play pen seating but I love the walk through bow. The handling of the boat is better, IMO, then the A22. The A24 sits so much taller in the water which also accounts for less or no spray when cruising in chop...depending on what you call chop. Steering is very light with a little more input when turning right due to prop rotation but still nothing you couldn't do with just a couple fingers on the wheel. The quality of vinyl continues to improve as far as thickness, texture, and firmness of the cushion. I believe the engine warmer tray is an in or two deeper than the A22 (it's deep enough to hold a family pack of chicken tenders and keep it warm). I have flake accents on my A24 and the lines from gel to flake are straight and flawless on my boat. The surf wake is long for days. We surfed 20'-25' back all day with no problem. I haven't ridden the wakeboard wake yet but I did play with extra bow weight, wedge, no wedge and it is huge. In addition, no ballast and no wedge it was clean to 17-18mph no problem. The inside to outside wake is even huge so if you like to do lip tricks from inside the wake to outside there's plenty of fun to be had. I have the 409 motor and 2419 prop. It does rev high for cruising so I'll probably pick up a 2315 as well. At 11.4-11.6mph it was turning just 3000-3100rpm surfing with 900 rears, all tanks full, bow sack full, Ronix 800 sack full, and 5 adults plus surfer. Top speed surprising was 40mph (GPS) at 5400rpm (the 409 has a higher redline).
That's awesome AJ! Yea me and my wife are going to go look at the A24 this weekend. If the trade is good and the $'s look ok we will probably pull the trigger. Sorry I meant to say we had a 2012 not 2014. Ha that would be crazy to already be trading a 2014 A22 for 2014 A24 haha.
