With my A22 coming in 7-10 days, I am going stir crazy thinking about everything but mostly my ballast setup. On top of the stock ballast (900lbs), We have the plug and play (400 per side in rear) and (950 arrow up front that will prob only fill to around 700ish) and I am planning on (150lbs) in lead under the front seat and another (150 lbs x 2) under each back corner seat.

That setup totals 2,850 not including what the wedge adds. With all this being said, possibly throwing a (400lb) on the bow and a (400lb or 750lb) on the floor for the days when its just me and one other guy. That would get me to 3,650-4000ish.

I dont want to use 750's or bigger in the lockers due to the space they take up when full. Plus Ive heard they wont fill to capacity in the lockers. A lot of the time it is just me and one other guy riding during the middle of the week and I dont want the wake to be off because one of the 750's has filled to capacity and the other is like 650, especially if it is the drivers side rear locker that is heavier. Does this make sense? Im probably overthinking this a bit, right???

As you can tell, I am pretty picky when it comes to my wake and I want it to be perfect. I had my VLX dialed in and this will be my first Axis.

My experience with the 400lb bags in the rear locker of the A22 with 800lb bow weight has been awesome. I personnaly don't think you can screw up the A22 wake. If you have a surfgate version and like to surf, get bigger rear bags and more weight in the front. The 2315 prop is a must have.

Ha! Ive been called worse.

We ordered the torque prop. And yes, we ordered surfgate. While we do not surf much, <5% of the time, we wanted surfgate for the ease and for resale.

same here. Just remember the 50/50 rule and the A22 will be laying that BA wake down.

dezul is correct, you can't really mess the wake very much. However, weight it just like your VLX but add 20%-25% more. The boat is only 6" longer than your vlx, but takes a bit more weight than your vlx. I copied my buddies 07 vlx weight set up and just added a bit more everywhere, since then I have tweaked it a tad.

I know your concern with the 750s not filling, but look to the sumo 600's. I did a side by side and the 600's fill to capacity and hold the same as the 750's do in that locker. the only thing to be careful of is to make sure your sumo's are the newest ones with the better fittings that do not pop out. My bow sack is a sumo and have had no issues, but there are a handful of guys who have had some issues with them. The fly highs have no real problems with their fittings, but their bags are not as good for a few reasons. 2 important ones are the capacities are overstated and second, their 1" fittings are not true ID 1", the sumo's are and will fill and drain a lot faster. for the record I have flyhigh 750's.

I think your starting weight set up with the lead in the lockers and 400's and the lead in the bow is a great starting point. adding a couple sacks to the floor will make your wake amazing. WARNING, once you ride it with 4000+ lbs properly set up, you will never want to ride it any other way.

Thanks for the response. I cant wait to get the boat and start playing with the wake. The one week countdown is on!

2012 A22
Factory tanks full
Wedge down
Fly High 950 up front.
Sumo 600'2 in the back.

Definitely going to need the prop upgrade.
