OK... Couple of questions.

Have read that this is one of the best upgrades that someone did.

What are all of the benefits....?

1. Have heard that is makes the in-boat noise quieter as well as making the boat engine (noise) exhaust quieter...? Please feel free to chime in on this one and let me know everyones experience with this. I for one love the way my boat sounds, especially when I am on the dock and hear it pulling away from me. Sounds like a beast and I love the sound. I also haven't really had a problem with in boat noise as it really hasn't been a problem especially with the Sound Pack 3 as we usually have it up pretty loud.

2. Carbon Monoxide poisoning from exhaust for people surfing. Is this really a problem...? I really don't know and want feedback on this. It seems that with all of the air around and the fact that you are moving that it really wouldn't be a problem. I can see a problem if you are sitting on the platform with engine running, but when surfing is it really a problem or just an aftermarket add on that really may not be necessary.

Are there any other benefits that I may be overlooking?
Thanks for the feedback.

May be upgrading my prop before I do anything else.

Bump on my previous thread.
Dezul.... Please give me any input you have on the above. Feel free to PM if you want too. I just want to make sure if this is something I want to do or not.
Thanks so much.

I will in the morning.

1. It definitely makes the boat quieter. I would guess about a 50% noise reduction from the boat engine and exhaust. If you like the roar of the engine at 4000 RPMs while towing a rider then this probably isn't for you. If you like your music to be more clear at a lower volume, then this is for you. What really made me decide "hey, I think I need an FAE" was this weekend when I was getting pulled for the first time of the year I noticed almost immediately the roar of the exhaust at 70'. I sometimes yell to my driver to speed up or slow down, my driver is a woman so she doesn't do hand signals very well. If you have a wife or gf that goes with you all the time then this is a must have.

2. I think this major selling point is for parents with kids. The FAE website has a lot of good info on it with videos of how it works. Take a look at it. http://www.freshairexhaust.com/
The noise reduction sold the FAE for me. I don't surf much so I can't really comment on this.

Check out this link on TMC http://www.themalibucrew.com/forums/ind ... ?hl=+fresh +exhaust

It will give you a better understand of device. Some people claim the FAE caused performance issues with their boat. The majority haven't noticed any performance related issues. Check out post #32 in the TMC link above. It will tell you some good info.

Installation of the FAE may be a pain in the butt for some people. I am not sure on the mounting brackets associated with the Axis but when I put it on my Centurion, it took me about 6 hours at a slow pace to install. The biggiest pain was cutting some stainless steel tubing with a hacksaw. Besides that, the instructions are very good and it is easy to install.

How does it impact lowering/raising the floating wedge on an Axis? Its really hard to tell from their pictures online...

It shouldn't be much more difficult than what it is now. It doesn't get very hot cause it is in the water so you can touch it all you want.

Ok, I am taking offense to this. I am a woman and am a far superior boat driver then my husband! :D
