Just ordered a 2079 and was wondering if any one has tried this prop? Jim with acme said it matt work better with the smaller engines than the 2315. Figured it couldn't hurt to try I have a 2313 now do were will see.

That is what I have run on my A20 for the last year. Short answer, beast of a prop that can pull a ton of weight. That said, I'm surprised that they didn't recommend the 2315 or 2419 since you have the A22 and I believe a bit more clearance to run the 15" props.

Well I know plenty of people running the 2315 a22&a20 but he wanted to try the 2079 compared to those and see how it matches up. Steele have you had or seen both 2079&2315 and if do can you tell a difference

Here is the clearance on my 2315 on the A22.

Yes the clearance is good. He thinks the smaller diameter might work better with the smaller 330 motor

I myself have only run stock, the cinco, and now the 2079 so can't compare to the 2315 directly. Everything I have seen suggests that additional surface area of the 2315 though will pull a ton more weight. I know Trever Maur out here runs a ridiculous amount of weight in his A22 and went with the 2315...with the way he weights the boat, if there was something with more pull I'm sure he would have jumped on it. LOL

I guess I should have asked before I commented...what are you hoping for from the 2079? If really strong pulling power with maybe more top end/fuel efficiency than a 2315 then you might be happy with the 2079. I have to believe though that just raw pulling power will go to the 2315 with the smaller motors.

I have about 3200lbs of weight in my A20 and do use the wedge for some riders, and the 2079 can get it all on plane relatively well. Not sure what the top speed is as never tested, but if I'm cruising around 30mph I think rpms are right around 4k and I try not to go more than that for long distances.

We have the 1235 on right now but a 2079 waiting in the shop. We run around 4000' in elevation, sometimes over 5000'. Our dealer has tried numerous props with weight configs. Ideal setup is stock ballast with 2 - 750 and 950 pnp. Extra 600+ in the bow and wedge down. 2079 is the only prop that will plane with the 330 motor. Not a lot of top end but comes out of the hole like a freight train.

I have had a 2079 on one of my boats at some point last year. I still like the 2315.
