Badgalaxie, that looks great. Just curious, how are people making sure it doesn't scratch up the platform? I know people are using pipe insulation on the edge against the transom, but it doesn't look like anyone is protecting their platform.

Ferral, that "DIY gate" of Badgalaxie's is one I built. I've improved upon the pipe insulation with the builds and replaced it with a vinyl covering that I attach to the front paddle to protect the hull. The pipe insulation wasn't holding up to long term use. As for the deck, it really doesn't get scuffed up. Especially when bolted on bc there is no movement of the mount that attaches to the deck. It becomes rock solid. If clamping it on, one option is to attach a strip of 3m film tape to the side of the mount. But even when I was clamping them I didn't notice any scratches or scuffs.

So when it's bolted to the platform it's always engaged. this seems bad for cruising. Thoughts?

It literally takes less than a minute to take one side off. Two large wings nuts to unscrew and done.

I was requested to remove them, but not by Axis...The same picasa account where I had uploaded them also feeds all our TVs screensaver. The wife was sick of looking at them and explaining to guest what my ghetto boat project was all about. I didn't realize I had nixed them from this forum too until it was too late. I have a better place to store them now if you needed anything.

Haha. That's pretty funny morrisdl. I was requested to remove mine as well, but also not from axis. I filed a patent pending on the device I made and the patent attorney suggested I remove the dimension pics.

Hey joey got to test it out today with a little weight it work awesome nice big clean wave. I don't think the pics do it justice but it's nice. Evenly weighted with 750 1/2 full and that's it. Just wanted to try it out a little bit today and worked great. Sorry again not sure why my pics are upside down. Don't know how to fix it
