I had an '06 silverado with 5.3L. It was ok. If it would have had a 3.73 rear end it would've been better. Suspension seems soft for towing anything over 5K lbs. I did it a few times and it wasn't very comfortable. Also make sure you check for disc brakes all the way around. It wasn't standard in 06 and I didn't catch it until it was too late.

I am towing with an 08 Chevy Silverado 1500 z71 with the 5.3L. It does just fine.

wow I enjoyed reading these post, I wont ever complain about my wife's Yukon XL at 12 mpg again. My dmax will do 13 to 16 depending on how hard you drive it. uk axis that's just plain laughable.
