Has Anyone had issues with their Surfgate getting stuck in the engaged position? Here is what happened to us.

my name is Rick Taurel and I work the FGCU boat.

Its A22 2014 with Surfgate

The port Side Surfgate was stuck in the engaged (out) position and no matter what setting we put it on, we could not get it to move. We Even tried the "Calibration" in the computer screen, but all we could hear is the starboard gate motor move.

We did some troubleshooting and we switched the "Right" and "left" electrical plugs inside the engine compartment. then did the Calibration again. When we started the Calibration it sucked in the previously stuck gate (Port side). But then when we hit "finish" calibration, It engaged the now Starboard side gate......WEIRD!!!

We messed around some more just to get both gates back to neutral position and haven't taken out on the water since.

Anyone have any feed back?

Hey Chris,

What did you do for your "power cycle?"

Just turned off everything and back on?

Let me know. Thanks

I have just seen where the actuators go bad. You might have the beginning of a bad actuator. If the power cycles do not work check to see if the dealer needs to replace it. Same device used on the wedge and I have seen a box full of those in the warranty parts return area. I think if they are not sealed correctly that they can sometimes leak water.

Problem solved.

For some Reason the computer and the Gates weren't "synced" up properly. I'm guessing one of my drivers just shut the boat off when the gate was still engaged. So I was able to fiddle with it and get it synced back up.

Thanks for the feedback though

What did you do to fix the issue? Mine is doing exactly the same thing. Thank you.

Mine did this too. My wife shut off the power before the gate was completely retracted. So it got stuck out. Power on, switch sides, nothing seemed to work. Got the boat back up and running at surf speed, switched it, and it fixed itself. All is fine now.
