I doubt it because these amps run so efficient and have a bunch of headroom. It's more to run the wires back under the amp, and figured if it could circulate some air it wouldn't hurt.

Thanks mex! Still anxiously waiting to see yours!!! Still have a battery box, sub box and cover, and mount the 420 left to do. Hopefully I'll get it down to just the sub box cover panel by this weekend.

Definitely will be doing the ballast. Just not sure when. Getting the system 100% done is priority. Than will probably go with 750 brostocks in rear, and the sumo 950 up front.

2 x SD6 amps
1 x jl 1200 amp(powers the sub only)
6 x xs 650 Rgb's in boat
4 x Rev 8's on the tower
1 x JL 12W7AE-3 subwoofer

The subwoofer is under the helm in a box(used the recommended dimensions on the JL site), couldn't go with a 13, wouldn't fit
Fabbed the false front out of fiber glass and used wetsounds 10" rings that I already had. It is attached using 2" industrial Velcro strips.
Had a 3rd sd6 mounted but it was over kill so removed it for the time being, pending my finding some more speakers to install

I wanted a double din head unit so when I made the dash piece I also included a space for the 420.

The best upgrade was the woofer, the sound is amazing.
The battery upgrade is due to being stranded once, that won't happen again!

That looks great mex! Are those 2 sub grilles just for the vent? How does that w7 sound? I had 2 13w7s in my old boat and they sounded pretty good.

I finally got my 420SQ and BT mounted in the new CNCd under dash mount. Also built a new sub box tuned to 41 hz using a 4" euro port. I got to listen to it a bit today, and it sounded so much better than the dual slot ported box I had my XXXv2. Now, I just need to build the trim panel for the sub, and turn the badges on the amp. I also still need to clean up some wiring but it's coming together
