The rings are not yet available. I checked with Sumo yesterday. SL is sending us some at Boardstop as soon as they have them available. If you bought bags from us last season we should be able to get you taken care of. Glad they came up with a fix for the problem...now to wait and see once the rings are installed how they hold up.

Do you know if bags ordered today will require the rings?

From what I understand they have not received a new shipment of Sumo bags so all the bags on the market today will probably need the rings. I have a feeling you will still see bags with bad rings for a while. Dealers might get shipped bags with the bad rings and then a package of the steel rings to include with those bags. I am not sure how SL is going to handle the current warehouse inventory or if they actually sold out of bags last season. Since they feel like they have a fix I bet they have not destroyed any carry over inventory from last season. Only use by guys like you will determine if the steel ring fix will be a winner or not.

Sounds more like they are just putting a band aid on the issue. If I was a SL customer, I would want new, replacement bags.

Does BFI have a true 1" fitting to take advantage of the new 1" lines Axis/Malibu has in their new boats?

Unless its very recent I haven't heard that...that's why people have ran to the Sumo and Ronix sacks. Why have 1" lines if you only have 3/4" fitting welded to the sack? You may as well not have 1" lines if you only have 3/4" fittings or a 1" to 3/4" reduction fitting.

I'm glad they came up with something. After reading tons of posts I'm pretty sold on the sumo's. Im a tech for lets just say a japanese luxury car company. sometimes the "field fixes" are better than the redesigned part. Atleast they are actively trying to address the problem. I'll give credit to the company pushing the limits. We could all be scewing with waterbed fittings still. Not that a 1" fitting is pushing limits but.......

Im really shocked BFI hasn't taken advantage of this opportunity and stepped up to to 1" fittings. The last ballast system I built was with all 1" hoses, pumps and fittings and was very disappointed when BFI didnt have anything 1". Like AJ said it makes a big difference if the last point of entry is a 3/4" fitting.

My questions for you guys: Ive got a A22 on order. I was gonna go with the 600 sumo's in the back, but my knee's are pretty hammered from my age and lots of active sports. Im thinking i might be surfing a lot more, should i get the 750's or even the 900's? I want to avoid swapping out later.

dezul- the only thing that is 1" is the outer fitting where the 1" hose hooks up. What matters in 1" inside diameter of the fittings.
