Hey All,

I monitor a University's 2014 A22 and just recently that engine has been making a squealing noise at low rpm when in gear. It goes away when you accelerate. I think its just air passing through Engine but is there any way to help fix this problem.

Boat has 60 hours on it so it can't be the belt can it?
Runs in Fresh Water in Southwest Florida.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Rick

We did get Water on the belt around hour 20. (Fat Sac connector came off and flooded the compartment). But that was a while ago and now it started squealing about 10 boar hours ago. Anything I should cote the belt with?

Have you ran the boat at idle and opened up the engine compartment to verify where noise is coming from?

We did open up the engine compartment and ran it. It Sounded like it was coming from the Engine belt area, but I'm not 100% sure.

Would it be bad so spray some T-9 Boeshield on the belt?

Rick, no worries on the pm. Happy to help if I can. I would call your dealer and see what they say. Still under warranty I would assume

Check the tension, is it a v-belt? May just need tightening up a little

I have a 2010 a22 and had to tighten up the belt a couple times because of squealing. I would start there.

Sounds like some good suggestions.. But I would bring it to the dealer and have him check it out. If that boat is a promo boat on loan from a dealer it is best to have him check it out and give it the OK. Don't want the University to lose a promo deal over doing some wrenching on their own.
