Love my 2011 A22! The boat overall is awesome and I would not take any other boat over it. The only thing that chaps my ass is the vinyl. It really is crap. Since I have purchased the boat new I have had to have different areas repaired after every season. This spring I am off warranty (they have covered and fixed everything so far) and now that I am on my own I have to figure out what to do. Do I just fix everything that comes up or look at just having the whole damn boat re-done with the new vinyl (because I can't stand the original vinyl). It just feels cheap!

Anyone have any idea on what it would cost to re-do the whole vinyl job?

I have replaced all 3 rear seat cushions over the last couple years all under Warranty, but my labor and no further issues. The replacement skins do seem better built, albeit the same material. Have you had issues other than stitching pulling apart?

I usually flip my rear corner seats upside down to load/unload passengers, but Im considering getting one of these ($30):

Ultimately, Im sure its cheaper to sell your 2011 and get a 2012 with the new vinyl than re-skin the entire boat.

Yeah, I'm sure it would be expensive and even though I would love to have the new vinyl I don't thinks it's worth trading in on a newer boat at this point. I have had the vinyl rip in three places and my hatch door under the glove box continues to rip b/c the door rubs every time you open it. Also the stitching has come undone on the back seat.

I have to say this again however. If your main purpose in this boat is to wake board and surf you will love the Axis. Now with the new vinyl on the 2013 I would buy this boat over every boat on the market even the 120K boats.

I guess I'm lucky. I have 192 hours on my 2011 A22 with no vinyl issues. However, the few friends that come on my boat know that they do not step on seat cushions if at all avoidable. My guy friends and I are all 6ft or taller so when we get into boat from the rear we grab the tower with one hand to take weight off our feet when stepping into the cabin area. There's usual a few beach towels on the rear bench seat anyways for the girls to step on.

I have a 2011 and the vinyl sucks big time. I think they should replace all the vinyl like a factory defect. If you talk to axis they have not heard of any complaints. Thats bull. It is so cheap.

I guess I am lucky too. I have 2010 a22, I use the sh%! out of my boat and am just starting to see wear. I have about 400 hours of just wake boarding hours on it and hundreds of hours of kids and adults climbing all over the boat. My buddy has a slightly older malibu and it has tears in the seams.

I think Axis should help us out on new vinyl. They know the vinyl would not hold up more than 25 hours.I have had three different seats done. Now I need another one done. I don't even let my children step on my seat. They should make it right for us. Give me the good vinyl and I will pay to have it put on.
