I remember seeing a post about it either on here or WW. But I can't seem to find it so I'm just going to ask. What's the best way to get scuffs or marks off the gel coat. It's from the little trailer bumper thing that sits above. We bought the boat used and it came with them on there.

I don't think a cleaner wax is strong enough to cut that. You could try some 3M Finesse It and a DA buffer with a good pad. However, it may take a mild compound.

On my black hull it was actually some of the rubber of the roller I think it came off with a little elbow grease and some hot sauce.

I've tried hot sauce and it doesn't work on those marks. It works good on anything else on that boat but not those. I don't get it.

Hot Sauce is not for removing either the scuffs (if its truly scuffed) or the material the bow stop is made from. Might try some Lime-Away but be sure to follow it with freshwater.

My roller marks always rub off by hand but if they're on there real good you might try gently rubbing some acetone on them and then wax the area

Just a little bit of acetone worked great, then I just put some hot sauce over it, I figured that would work. Thanks for the help guys.

Follow up question is how to prevent it from coming back once you have removed. I have the same problem.

I assume it's from just coming on to the trailer too fast. When we trailer the boat we back the trailer it just deep enough to get the boat settled on the bunks then back the trailer in deeper to put the boat up the rest of the way.
