^AJ is spot on. I actually started riding without the wedge at the end of last season though and filled the rear 750s more to compensate. I prefer more of a transition, but the key is to have more weight up front in the bow so the lip stays nice and firm.

My dad recently bought bags for our axis and is worried about all the water in the bow he thinks 950 is too much so we went with a 650 up there and 540s in the back, now one bag in the back is about 100 lbs shy of the bow bag.. You guys are saying keep the ratio pretty close from bow to rear.. Will this be an okay set up?

That 950 arrow bow sac does not fill all way due to not being able to expand under the bow. If you don't have an extra sac to put up front just put 3 adults up there for fun while wake boarding and watch the wake get better.

AJ is right, the arrow bow sack does not fill all the way under the seats, but your 650 in the bow with 540's in the rear and full stock ballast will be a good starting point. Adding wedge to that set up will give you a really steep wake, it will be very soft on the lip and may feel really wide. IF you are using the wedge, you really want to try to keep the front/rear ratio to 50:50 to help keep that wedged lip firm, otherwise you will blow through it or it will be foamy and may tend to grab your board as you blow through it… not good. Also, depending on your motor, elevation and prop set up, you may not be able to plane with wedge down. So add a 400-600 sack on the bow seats and drop the wedge, this will be a great great wake.
Even if you do not use the wedge, malibu boats absolutely need bow weight, and really thrive at 50:50 weight distribution. The bow weight firms the wake lip which will result in more pop as your board edge will not blow through the lip. More weight in the rear will soften your lip, steepen the lip, and widen your wake, plus it makes planing a bit more difficult.
Axis wakes are very hard to mess up though, so have fun riding and playing with weight configurations.

Thanks for the help guys! I'll definitely mess around with it. I usually ride in the ocean or at Havasu, and until now I've just had stock ballast and the wedge down with some people but I'll move people around and see what works better then buy a bag and put it there. Oh and I have the 335 with the Acme 1235 prop

If I am riding fast and long rope (24.5 and 70ft) I like full ballast and no wedge.
If we have good number of people in boat, I like slower speed, wedge and less ballast (23.3 and 65ft)
