Need input from all of you about a problem with my bow skins.
In the bow there is a problem with my skins that came from the factory that way. Wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and the cause of it and Axis solution to the problem.
I noticed the problem last summer and was going to wait until the off season to get it addressed only to find out that the year warranty has expired by 6 months. This is an obvious problem that occurred at the factory and I wanted to see who all it has happened to and Axis solution to the problem. Feel free to chime in SDUKES cause I know you had the same problem.
I will post pics below but it looks like something has burned the skins in each corner.
Shame on me for not handling it earlier and contacting the dealer or Axis about it. I was just wondering since it came from the factory that way do you think they will give me a break on the year warranty and handle this for me...?
Thanks for any and all input.

I have a couple of those in the exact places but mine are smaller. I didn't notice either for a while. Mine are about the size of a quarter

This is a common problem, especially in white or grey boats. Those 2 corners of the bow are concave and they reflect the sunlight right onto the cushion, like using a magnifying glass to burn ants or start a fire. Axis/Malibu definitely knows about this and will replace your skins. They try to fix it by changing that corner black piece to white or light grey on the new skins, but according to my dealer, and common sense, it will happen again. 3 of my 4 bow skins were replaced with the same exact color way and in one day (hot day in havasu) my skins did the same thing. It looks like someone tried to melt it with a torch.

The only real fix would be for Axis to have a 1 piece back cushion that continues in that corner instead of 2 pieces that have that big gap. As for now, there are no real fixes from Axis, just have them keep replacing the skins every winter.

Will Axis fix this even if it is out of the 1 year warranty...?
Do I need to work with dealer or is there someone at Axis that I need to talk to...?

Doug, my dealer is aware of the issue and like Johnny said they indicated that it is a known issue. My vinyl is grey but looks just like Doug's. My dealer said they would replace it this winter and asked if I was against going with white in the corners.

Sent them an email and got a response pretty quick.

"I would suggest to take photos of all the upholstery and have your dealer forward them to us.
I cannot promise anything but we will take a look at this for you."

Since they are aware of the problem hopefully they will fix it for me. Although I am 6 months out of the 1 year warranty hopefully they will do the right thing from a customer service standpoint.

Good News / Bad News......

First before we get into that I have since found out that Axis is coming up with a solution to the problem. Not sure exactly what it will be but I have heard that they are coming up with something to put in that corner to keep it from happening anymore. Apparently it will be something that I can put there or my dealer will put in there for me. Also heard that there is no cost for this fix. Not sure when it will be available but it is in the works.

Now for the good news / bad news.
Axis has indeed admitted that it was a problem and they are going to replace my skins for me. Bad news is that I will have to pay labor to have them put on. I am glad that they will replace the skins but I feel deep down that they should also pay for my dealer to put them on since it was no fault of my own that this happened. I will agree that I am out of my 1 year warranty (by a few months) but come on man..... This was not my fault. It's a design flaw.

Thoughts and/or ideas...???
