dezul, what prop do you run with 1100s? the high torque? I had an A20 out the other day with Cinco prop and 800s. Wouldn't get on plane with the wedge down.

I dont have it yet but everyone on here recommends the 2315. How much nose weight did you have? I plan to fill the arrow sac and throw about 900lbs on top of the seat with all factory ballast full.

We ran the arrow sac under the seats and just filled if all. 2 people in boat. It started to plane when one guy went all the way into the bow but we decided to just pull the wedge up.

According to our dealer the key to the A22 is to run as much weight in the front as you can. They typically fill the 950 arrow and then another 750 to 950 in the front.

Awesome question! That is something I know there is a lot of discussion about and everyone has their opinion...but from what I have read so far it's better to prop the boat then to have a bigger motor...but in my opinion (and mine doesn't count much since I don't own one of these boats yet) a few extra ponies in the back to make sure the boat is not struggling to get up on plane seems like a good idea. Isn't that why Malibu offers a bigger motor?
I am planning to order a new boat this winter and trying to decide between the A22 and the T22. Everyone says the stock motor is fine...but I can't help but think that if your spending that much on the boat including 3-4 thousand on the stereo...that upgrading the motor should be given the same consideration. You can always install new speakers and amps but it's unlikely you will change the motor!

If your going to pay for the motor upgrade, go straight to the ls3. If you look at the torque curve of the the 350 all the extra power is in the upper rpms. That's useless for a towboat. My dealer swears by the 335 and he is a good friend of mine. If the 350 was worth it he would push it. You can do a lot more with a prop upgrade and save a few grrr. Having said all that I would own a ls3 in a heart beat. If I had an extra 9k.

The 350 in an Mxz (which is 400 pounds heavier than an a22), didn't particularly impress me.

From the new 2014 Axis boats that I have seen sold. 2315 is the prop they are still going with and the 750 BFI sacs are the most common. 1100s are the other size I am seeing. I see very few if any of the 400 standard size bags for the Axis. That is what I see moving at boardstop.com

I see that the build a boat option is finally up on the Axis site for the T22. It appears that there is a new blue metallic color, but the site is not working correctly and displaying the same color for both of the darker metallic blues. Anybody have any info about the new color?

That one does look pretty awesome! I saw it last month when I flew home from Seattle.
