I got a chance to go ride the new Liquid Force Bro-Boat A24 with a couple friends and man o man, it is excellent.

First impression is it is a huge boat. It feels and looks the same when I am driving it..... until I turn around and look back and there is a ton of boat behind me. I did not drive it in a tight riding area so I cant comment on how well it turns when heavily weighted. It has the 450 and we put on the ACME 2419 (15 x 12) prop. Full stock ballast, 750's in rear (completely full) front bow pnp (750) and the sumo floor sack 800, Sumo 600 in bow on floor (approx 3600 plus stock ballast 1100?? so about 4600 lbs) full fuel (approx 60 gallons out of 80), 2 adults, 1 toddler, 1 rider and no wedge. The 450 w/ 15" prop was great, had no problem getting up to speed, could handle a lot more weight.

Rode 23.5 at 78' and it was great, my buddy rode it at 81' and that was probably better. The wake is definitely familiar, feels like my wake, almost exactly. Only thing is it was noticeably steeper. We had speed control issues above surf speeds so we used RPM mode to keep speed which is not optimal, but it worked out alright. The wake was big and meaty, smooth transition with a long lip that booted you, firm, definitely not blowing through the lip like what can happen with a wedged wake.

Surfing with surfgate, only tried for a few minutes because we were super short on time. Wave looked good, just deployed the surfgate and did not get a chance to play with the weight or speed. It was clean and huge though. I have some pics I will try to get on here this week.

Boat. HUGE!!! drives nice, drives like a malibu of course. Vinyl is nice, alot nicer than my 2011. The dash is growing on me but it is still set up very nicely with the switches in positions that make sense. The bow is big but looks funny to me because of the walk through bow and traditional seating arrangement. The observer door did not open up farther than 80 degrees, so it was crazy hard to get things in and out. I think it was a mistake on this boat, it can't be that way on all of them. Warming tray is big. The transom is split with a full height step in the middle, then the recessed and lower seat/step for putting on your board... one on each side of this 1 foot wide step in the middle. It looks 2011 nautique-esk, and you are on one side of the step or other to put on your board if you are a "sitter". I like the A22/A20 transom better.

Swimstep is cool. I like how it rolls downwards on the end into the water. The step does not get in the way of the wake or wave. Its not as big as my original 2011 square swim step but it works great with the surf gate.

Ballast- huge hose and pumps... 1" inside diameter, fills so fast, drains fast as well. We put all StraightLine Sumo sacks in it and they merry perfectly with the pnp high flow hoses. Bow sack fits great and fills under the seats perfectly, still room for lead if you want. The 600 sumo we put on the floor fit in the bow between the seat bases perfect as well. We put 750's in the rear lockers, they seem to fit better than in the A20 or A22. I think the transom design opened up some space. On the carpeted acces panel in the lockers towards the bow, there is a ball valve that allows you to switch from filling the bag or the hard tank. That was well placed and well done. We had no issues with the ballast draining past the drain pump as the bag filled up. We were able to fill completely and the 750 fit really well, better than in my A22.

There is so much storage. There are some really cool depressed areas under the seats in the floor that we thought would be great to throw lead in, then put down some of that black plastic over it that they put over the hard tanks in the lockers. it would be a hidden compartment. There are a ton of places to put ballast bags or lead-wake bags.

Overall I loved the boat, the wake is huge, the boat is huge, the surf wave is huge, and it drives like a smaller boat. I can't have a boat that big in my lake, but if I did get it, I would def get the 450 motor. I can imagine that the 350 would have a hard time pulling more than 4500 lbs of weight and gear and people EVEN if it had the 2315 prop.

I will post pictures this week hopefully.

Sounds like all 2014's are having speed issues. There has got to be a factory issue or factory fix. I'm having to run rpm and use phone for GPS speed. I had no issues with my 2010 not sure what is happening. It surges bad and will not hold consistent speed.

Yeah, same with us. We rode RPM and set it at my gps around 23.5 (guessing cuz my program I have doesn't have tenths, just whole numbers) but the speedo was showing 24.5. We just set the rpm and then we would hand drive it to keep it close. It worked okay for the short time we had to ride, but I wouldn't want to do that all the time. The wake would change as the speed fluctuated and that was frustrating. I can't wait to ride it again with the speed control working properly and the wake dialed. It was truly awesome out of the box, we had no time to move ballast and did not bring lead (big mistake). 5-10 more trips out, that wake will be dialed for sure and I can't wait to ride it again.

Here are a couple pics. The rider is approx 6'2", riding at around 78' at approx 23.5. You can see that there is plenty of wake behind him and when our other buddy rode at 81' it looked perfect.

So the wake... Was it that much bigger than your a22 with similar weight? I have one on order and I have not got a chance to ride it. Just going on what others have said and pictures. Keep hearing steeper but just wandering how it stacks against say a g23 or slammed nautique 230 or x star.

We had approx 4500 lbs I believe and my boat with 4500 lbs are about the same size. The A24's upper half of the wake is a bit different than my A22 in that the upper half gets more vertical. The transition at the bottom is long and smooth in both boats, but the A24 without wedge felt like an A22 with wedge, but the lip was very solid and firm as well as it was a smoother transition throughout. I find that a heavily weighted A22 with wedge has a steep lip that is a tad bit abrupt, thin, and has the tendency to wash a little bit at times, as well as the board can be ridden through it at times. The A24's lip is similar in steepness but it was a smoother transition, longer lip, and more solid. It is an incredible wake and we did not spend any time playing with the ballast. We just plugged all the sacks in, filled, then rode. If you liked a wedge A22, you will love a weighted wedgless A24 imo.

As for wake comparison with the G23, 230, or new xstar, I have little to no experience in all those boats. The old xstar (04-11) heavily weighted has a wake very similar to the A24, if that helps.

UPDATE

I rode today, yes So Cal is awesome :D behind the A24 Bro Boat again. Wow! it is awesome. The speed control issue was fixed, not sure what they did but it held speed with no fluctuation at all. The prop was changed, from the 2419 to the 2315. We noticed when it had the 2419 that one side was washing out a bit and was uneven whenever the boat would change speeds… which was kinda a lot since that same day the speed control was not working. Whatever the reason, prop, speed control, or both, it is fixed now. The 450 with the 2315 prop is money, gets up to speed so effortlessly and holds speed perfectly. We rode it in a tight riding spot and even with 4500 lbs, it turned so easily and tight, definitely did not feel like a 24' boat around the turns.

As for the weight set up, it was a bit different. The integrated bow sack was pulled out and the 600 sumo was not used in the bow. Instead we put a SUMO 900 on the floor in the bow and that is all. Sumo 750's in the rear, full stock ballast, and then 1000 lbs of lead in the center of the boat, 500 under the seats of each side about even with where the tower mounts. We had 3 adults and 2 toddlers, so about 25 lbs more of people than last, but the gas tank was empty.

No wedge. Rode approx 23 mph at 78'. The wake was excellent as before. It was very firm for not having as much bow weight and booted us. It was a great day, water at around 55 deg, and air was 70.

Thx for the follow up. Still wish someone would video a moderated slammed A24 surfing reg and goofy. I've read a few people on the MalibuCrew say the surf wake is "massive" to "huge" with a lot of push. I guess just not enough of them out there yet.
