So is the return only connected to the water system via low idle Y or does it also reconnect to the water pump on the valve labeled from heater?

Yes. Although I have not tested in the water yet. From my understanding that's the way it's to be done. Maybe we should call heater craft and ask him.

He is very helpful. He walked me through how to wire the toggle switch. The instructions that were included were for a different type of switch.

Toggle wiring.
Red wire is med speed
Yellow is low speed
Red is high speed
Black wire is ground

I chose to use med and high.
On the back of the the toggle there are 6 male prongs numbered 1-6

I plugged the red wire into #1 the orange wire into #3.
If you take out the (ACC) toggle located on the very right hand side it has the power and ground attached from the factory already. Mine had an orange wire for the power. Plug that wire into the #2 spot. Take the black ground wire from the heater and the black ground from the OEM toggle and plug them together. FYI the ground wires do not need to be plugged into the new toggle.
Hope this helps.

Ok guys here is my install

I first started by removing everything from inside the boat that might get in the way as suggested in the Malibu crew forum. Removing captains chair was a MUST!!

Image

I choose to run my heater hose in the channel on the right side of the boat. This was a pain but I wanted it out of the way. Feed the hose from under cock pit to the hole on the back right before back seat wall. I double the hose so I only had to pull it threw once

I to choose to use the Y pipe and installed it in the same place as potato shack on the left side between speedo sensor and ballast pump with y towards motor

Image

Don't connect the hose yet you need it off later to figure out which end is which when you connect to heater. I also choose to use a brass ball valve on the supply line using part numbers posted above

Image

You can go ahead and connect heater hose as long as the other side is still off

After that I chose to go ahead and do all the wire running and connecting the switch

There is also a ground block under dash that you can run ground to or you can run to battery will work either way. Now you can mock up where the heater core and blower are going to go. I didn't really see a great place to mount this thing plus for some reason my steering cable was in the way and it didn't have slack. You can (I think) take it a part and flip the bar so that the cable runs in threw the hole the radio wires come from but I didn't want to mess with it so I made a shelf

Image

Now go to the loose heater hose and plow threw it and mark which hose it is. you want the return line on the bottom. It will work the other way but it will drain better this way. Once you hove both hose connected sit unit on top of self or what ever your location is to make sure it doesn't crimp

Make sure you mark the locations the remove and assemble. When your mounting everything make sure you have all the hose routed correctly an wires out of the way so you don't have to undo it to untangle hose and wire. Then you can choose tube location

Image

I choose to run a pull tube to under pass seat do the furthest to first to ensure enough flex tube
