I'll probably play around with the profile before making something a bit more permanent. As the only one of 6 in the family that rides regular I've learned to surf goofy :). A while back I was thinking of cutting the corners on the platform but this has been a way easier way to go.

The way we made are gate is that when you clamp it down to the platform it angles the paddle down. The top of platform narrows from back to front so when you clamp it down it angles down

@amsugg are you still haveing issues with your gate? It looks as if you have the 2012 platform, but your paddle doesn't stick out as far as you need it too. I think it's 32°?

negative, I made the paddle bigger 17Hx24L, and cleaned up fit to boat. I followed joeys measurements exactly also I think my main issue was it didn't hug the boats curves. once those corrections where made, its amazing

Used my Poor gate on sunday. I have to do another version and get that 8% angle to follow the side of the hull. I think it will reduce the splash and clean up the wave. It's still super fun and I definitely got the board out of the water a few times. GEtting chilly here in VA, SUX! Need heater! I'm still gonna rock it for the next few weeks though!

You should get in on the heater group buy that is currently being discussed in this forum. Search for heatercraft to find the details. If we get 15 people to buy, we'll get 40% off the list price of the heater parts.

2nd that! I have one and love it! We use the boat year round. I would actually get a 2nd heater for the back seats of the boat except not sure how to do it with the "ax-ray" seat panels. No need for a shower here - we all go straight from shortys to dry suits.
