Hey guys new to the forum been checking out you guys making the surf gates and the look awesome way better then buying a new boat. PotatoShack do you mined sharing your dimensions.

Sick looking wave goducks!!! I'm in the process of making some mods to my first one. Didn't know if I just got lucky with the first one ever put on an Axis or if I can teak a lil bit more out of it. I gotta at least try. I'm changing the depth and the angle of the pitch of the paddle. The stock paddles seem to cant out at the top just a pinch. I'll post results this wk.

Joey. Mine seemed to do the same. My next one I'm going to try and make lighter and collapsible for easier storage in the boat.

Maybe I missed it but has anyone posted the actual dimensions of the stock gate? I tried out my homemade gate this weekend on a 2012 platform. The wave was awesome, I got a lot of spray but I think its because I made my paddle 14 inches tall so I could use it on both sides. It did fall off at one piont and my clamps sunk to the bottom of the lake, but up until that point it worked great.

Mine is 14" by the boat and tapers to 12" at the tail. Its centered to work either side of the swim-platform and is very close to touching the tie-down loop. I get about and 1" of water over the top, but I also max out the ballast w/wedge. I tried listing a little to the surf side; it raised the surfgate up and the water did spray straight up. Didnt bother us, but on a windy day it might be annoying. Sorry to hear about the clamps. try the strap method - been great for me!

If u don't go w the strap method u could use these to attach your clamps to the tie down loop. I was planning one converting to the strap method but picked these up for now and they work great...
