I built mine with Walter's strap suggestion - at least how I envisioned it. Mine has a U shape and is tapered to match the swimdeck profile. I drilled a whole for a strap to go connect the tow hook to the swimdeck brace bar. I tied off the excess strap to the grab bar, but I dont think it was needed.
I also made me surf wedge symmetrical to be used on either side. Same dimensions and angle as Joey's except increased the face height height to 12" to allow for the flip to the otherside. I didnt get a chance to flip it before the daily t-strom, but the goofy side was biggest I have ever ridden on any boat. The wave was longer, wider, cleaner, and much taller than I have ever produced with this boat. tested it between 10.6-11.2 and all seemed good. Wedged down. middle full, both rear 1100' bags 80% full.
