I am out on river right now, key is turning freely and not starting boat, any suggestions?

Lanyard is located below the shifter red coiled cord.

Make sure your shifter/throttle is in neutral

Yes checked, both, it's the ignition switch, it will turn 360 degrees

Should be a red or orange and back or other dark colored wire.

Was your ingnition switch just loose from the back allowing the key to spin?

Same thing happened to me last fall. My switch had to be replaced.
