Probably cheaper for anyone near a lake, it costs at least 150$ in just fuel for me to go between the truck, and a day on the water in the boat, then if you don't have a lake pass it's 8$ per person and 8$ per vehicle just to get to the ramp, it's a hassle but usually worth it if the water is nice, but I would pay the Cali registration price if there were a lake across the street from my house, some of you guys are really lucky!!!

Nothing previous owners registration is good for 2 more years and was in a business name.

I guess all the park/launch fee's for upkeep etc, are included in our reg fee each year.
I have not paid to launch my boat or use a lake yet, in the state of Washington...

Let's see...boat registration in Oklahoma about $1400 for the first year than just $150 a year after that (but no sales tax). Registered in OK because it is cheaper than Kansas, which has sales tax $1500 plus about 1000 a year property tax.

Next we have to buy permits for the Kansas State Parks which is only about $35 a year, and about $75 a year for most smaller county lakes, then about $20 per visit every time we go to Oklahoma lakes.

$40 for two years in SC and a $300 sales tax cap when first purchased...
