I could use some help on changing the oil on my 2017 A24 with 409 engine. Anyone know the part number for the oil filter? Best route for draining the old oil? Thanks in advance.

For draining you need an oil pump with resevoir to suck it from the drain hose like a pela etc. But not sure on a filter for the newer models

My 2012 A22 has a hose sticking up for use with a vacuum pump. (Looks like a pneumatic air hose fitting with brass cap)
I went to hardware store and fabricated an attachment.

I can't imagine them not putting one on a 2017.

I didn't know you could pump it out from there. My 2011 A20 has that same type of oil tube, but I use it to hang out the rear of the boat where the brass through hull fitting is. It gravity drains in about a couple hours if cold.

ryguy - correct, run that hose toward the rear plug of the boat. If you connect it to a hand pump, like referenced above, you can drain the oil in a minute or two. I run the boat up to temp before pumping out the oil. Much quicker.

Gravity drain takes forever. Hook a pump to it.

Just doing my 25 hour service and just so you don't use any wrong fluids be sure your using what the pcm manual reccomends, not the indmar link above

Your oil filter is a Napa Gold 1515, wix 51515, Royal Purple 30-8A or cross reference one of these.
