The plethora of discussions on adding electronic valves and in-line valves to the rear PnP systems on the forum prompted me to search for a cheap, easy, and effective way to realize the same functionality as those forum experts who have taken on the plumbing and electrical challenge of adding static valves. See photos below.

I found that the I.D. of the effluent/vent ports on our plumbing systems is exactly that of a rubber wine stopper; which is easily found at your local spirits store. Picked mine up for $2. The stopper has a SMALL atmospheric valve (shown laying just left of the wine cork), just pop it out and fill the interal void with enough silicone to make it water tight (about 3 squirts worked for me).

Pop it in the effluent (drain) port when filling and riding and take it out when ready to drain. The rubber ribbing holds it securly in place. If you drop it... it floats... or it costs $2 to buy a new one... no worries... no mess.

I have the 1100s in my rear locker; used all day Yesterday. No leaks... filled the 1100s to the brim... no bypassing whatsoever. Also... doesn't look redneck engineered either... AJ didn't even notice it and he is about as anal as they come!

Like my wife says... when all else fails.... plug it!!! :-)

Sweet, pick me up a couple and put them in your glovebox. I'll swap you a "dirty 30" pack.

Folks surfed all day on Saturday... no leaks... cut filling time on the 1100s by 1/3 or more; no bypassing. AJ was with me as a witness... if you were skeptical, trust me... cheap investment as a primary or backup solution.

Any spirits store or grocery store with a larger wine selection should have them... check around the corkscrews and misc items.
