Ok, water is chilly and air is too. Who's wearing what? I'm thinking about a spring suit for the last few weeks of fall and, well spring too! I prefer long sleeve everything so I've been looking at this...

... but am wondering if this would be overkill. Or if people actually do wear spring suits.

Otherwise I'm looking at this...

Discuss...

Water temps for me in Texas are 80-82. I'll trunk it until 70-72, then it's Hyperflex 3/2mm long sleeve spring suit with chest zip. Best spring suit I've ever owned. It has absolutely no "flushing" of cold water due to the chest zip and takes a min or two to even feel the water. I'm totally comfortable in it into the low 60's. I don't have a fullsuit so ill skip that and just use my drysuit below 60 degrees.

Here in b.c I trunk it till about 54 degrees then its time to shut her down for the season. The warmest our lake got this year was 77 and that felt like bath water compared to April when I jumped in for a quick session at 52! I was thinking of getting the rip curl 4/3 suit but I wasn't aware of mobility issues.

My lake is down to 60 now and I was perfectly comfortable in a heater top an board shorts yesterday. Air was about 78. As soon as the air dips as its supposed to this week, I'll switch to full suit or drysuit

It's funny to see how all of us have different comfort levels in different water temps. I have a couple friends that think 80 is cold and were in shorties in 80-83 degree water last week. They wear fullsuits in 73-75 water and whine, shiver, and/or scream when they get get lol. Of course the northerners have a much better tolerance than us wusses in the south. Comfortable to me is down to about 70-72 but ill still ride in 53-55 degree water with drysuit.

73 water temp with cloudy skies and 74 air temp. I wore a heater top and was perfect. I can't imagine a full suit! I'd be on fire!!!

HAhah, very true about different tolerances. My sister is one of the ones who will whine about anything under 80. I only moved to MN end of last year, but before that I was riding year round in northern CA. It got down to about 40s air and 50 water in the worst part of winter, dry suit was great. I think I just got used to the cold from that and prefer to where as little as possible as long as I can. Wetsuit and drysuit are both uncomfortable, restricting, and awkward, so I just avoid as much as I can

Was out yesterday in 75* outside air and 64* water with no suit. I need to find a suit though for early riding, getting close to done here for the year.
